So, one day you're sitting at school, trying desperately to pysch yourself up to enrich the lives of little hellions by vainly checking your e-mail when a family newsletter happens to pop up. You read it, of course. And then, in the blink of an eye your blog is outed. Yes, that sweet, innocent-looking, slightly-built grandmother of your husband's, who has nothing but kind words and thoughtful gifts to give has had the audacity to share your blog address with the whole family. As if a blog set up to keep friends and family in the loop was actually meant to be seen by friends and family. Unbelievable. I guess I'll just have to keep all of the bad-mouthing of the Muhlestein clan to myself. I jest, of course. (I hope you all could tell.) I hear Sara's baptism was lovely and we are always sorry to miss any family event. As I write, my own family is fleeing Las Vegas and its hideously hot weather (with my grandparents' fiftieth wedding aniversary to boot! Ha!). Mainly, I'm just excited because I only have ten more hours of work this week.
Also, speaking of cats out of the bag, Paul bought Guitar Hero II and now our apartment is rockin' into the wee hours of the morning. Turns out another teacher, let's call her Audra the Awesome, has spent probably over 100 hours playing Guitar Hero in the last month. It was literally the last thing she did before she left America. I fear for the weekend. Last weekend, one roommate spend 13 straight hours playing Viva Pinata (a fun game to be sure, but 13 straight hours of fun? You can only put so many absurd hats and spectacles on hedgehogs.). I believe, with good reason, that if Paul and Audra started playing in the morning, they would not stop until their fingers fell off or they keeled over from exhaustation at 4 am.

Paul, if you are going to spend that much time and effort, why not get a real guitar and learn to play it?
Paul declares GH2 to be "way funner" than playing an actual guitar.
Matt, got to play Jake's guitar game in Vegas and enjoyed it. Yes,we are back. Kara, will fill you in on the trip.
How good is Paul at GH2? And why stay up forever just to play it? Wouldn't it be easier just to play it when you're actually awake?
You know, I keep hearing people say "Mom will fill you in" or "Kara will write you later." But do I ever hear from this elusive "Mom"? I think not. As for Tressa's comment, Paul is good at GH2, but Audra could play blindfolded. It's like she's one with the game. Also, Paul has evolved beyond the need for sleep, unlike myself, who is often awake at 2 am these days, yet needs to sleep in until 10 am or so.
GHII is only "way funner" if you don't have the right fuzz boxes for your guitars. They don't call me Professor Fuzz for nuthin'. Jennifer, when you're ready for Paul to have a real guitar, get in touch.
